Following the release of his riveting studio albumĀ The House IsĀ Burning,Ā Isaiah Rashad joinedĀ the Breakfast ClubĀ to talk about the meaning of the project, whatās been going on in his life, and everything surrounding TDE.
During the conversation, Rashad clarified a tweet that many had misconstrued to be about label mate Kendrick Lamar.
āI was on the way to my kid's birthday party on Saturday, and me and her mom had had a little verbal whatever,ā Rashad explained about the real meaning of his tweet. āAnd I knew that I couldnāt really sayĀ anything that I wanted to say, so I said it on Twitter for a second, and Iām forgetting that n***as are watching me, so I deleted it. Not about him.ā (āHimā being Kendrick.)
The tweet in question readĀ āeverybody emotional. u not that special. quit embarrassing us.ā Ā
Rashad quickly deleted it and clarified the message was not directed at K.Dot.
Social media was set ablaze last week after Kendrick Lamar broke his silence on Twitter and dropped a short but loaded message saying he was working on his last album with his label Top Dawg Entertainment.
āAs I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years,ā Kendrick wrote. āThe Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my lifeāsĀ calling.ā
Elsewhere in the open letter, Kendrick talked about going months without a phone and trying to find peace through the ebbs and flows of life. Rashadās tweet was presumed by some to be about Lamar because everyone was focused on theĀ DAMNĀ rapper at the moment.
