Alessia Cara has released her latest single "Ready," off the singer's upcoming EP This Summer.
Cara has had quite the ascendance since debuting her sophomore album The Pains of Growing in November. The singer recently embarked on a U.S. tour with Shawn Mendes, and has recently taken to Twitter to announce the rollout of her latest project.
"Caught the writing bug out of the blue and made an EP. it's called This Summer," the Grammy-winner wrote. "I’ll be releasing a new track every couple of weeks until it’s release." In the track, Cara explores the feeling that comes after you realize you're involved with someone who's not ready for commitment. It's a different kind of breakup, one that allows you to walk away feeling empowered.
The 23-year-old also announced The Pains of Growing Tour will kick off this fall with special guest Ryland James, and released the U.S. headlining dates. In the midst of her various announcements, Cara responded to a handful of fan comments about This Summer.
This Summer is set for release on Sept. 6.
