Future and Young Thug have had a conscious and subconscious influence on music and 21 Savage thinks it's time they get what they deserve.

On Saturday, Savage took to Twitter where he claimed that his fellow ATLiens should receive some sort of check or recognition for the way artists are currently making music.

"Pluto and slime should get writing credit for 90% of the shit dat come out," 21 wrote.

Savage's comments only reinforce the impact Future and Thug have had on music. In October, the BBC decided to wrap up the decade by naming Young Thug the most influential rapper of the 21st century. Also, megastars like Post Malone have showered Thug with praise.

"Thugger made it OK for everybody to think different," Post explained to The Fader. "He is hip-hop, but not afraid to do country, pop, Latin. He makes it okay to be fearless as fuck and just be yourself. He showed you don’t have to listen to anything anyone says. He’s gonna be here for a long time, doing what he does."

As far as Future, it would be hard to find an artist who has had a more impressive career. Since revamping himself following 2014's Honest album, Future has unleashed an onslaught of chart-topping projects. This includes 2017's Future and HNDRXX, which both debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart despite being released within just a week of each other.

Still, his musical impact is often overshadowed by relationship drama or other antics. As a result, he took the time to remind fans that he fathered a lot of their styles. Genius uncovered a Twitter rant from Future in 2018 that explains how important he is to music.

Enough of these lil niggas running round like I ain’t make y’all 🙄

Although he feels like he deserves more respect, established and acclaimed artists like fellow Dungeon Family member André 3000 have sung their praises for Future.

"Me and my son, we like Future fanatics man," André said in Future's THE WIZRD documentary. "And we sit and we listen to it and I said ‘Man, Future makes the most negative inspirational music ever.'"

Along with their coinciding cultural impacts, Future and Young Thug happen to be good friends. The two have collaborated on several songs as well as their Super Slimey joint project. The duo is reportedly working on a sequel to this tape but this time they've expanded their group to include Lil Baby and Gunna.
