A new posthumous single from slain Punjabi-Canadian singer Sidhu Moose Wala called “Vaar” has been released.

The song has already spread like wildfire, with the official YouTube video amassing over 8 million plays in under 13 hours since its release. Wala, real name Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, came to Canada in 2016 and lived in Brampton. He was gunned down in India earlier this year at age 29.

The Snappy-produced track was unveiled in an Instagram post, with the caption: “Until the lions have their own historians, the history of the hunt will always glorify the hunter. Vaar Playing Now..!”

Earlier this year, Mississauga native AR Paisley paid tribute to his close friend and mentor on the single “Legends Never Die.”

At the time, there was also a belief among fans that a collab with Drake was incoming.
