At ComplexCon 2018, Everyday Struggle co-host Wayno brought together Raekwon, No I.D., and Sickamore for the ComplexCon(versations) panel New God Flow: How to Make a Rap Album in 2018. The hip-hop luminaries shared their own experiences in the studio, with Sickamore discussing his time with Travis Scott working across multiple projects.

"I think of an artist career like a TV show," Sickamore said. To continue the metaphor, he called Rodeo, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight, and ASTROWORLD seasons of a series, with each one offering a look at Scott's progress as an artist and individual. When Wayno brought up the topic of how technology has affected music, Sickamore praised its advantages, specifically mentioning that Drake's verse for "Sicko Mode" was finished at 2 a.m. on the same day ASTROWORLD was released.

No I.D. was less enthused about technology, which he said is destroying collaboration because he feels people aren't properly communicating when those moments go down. I.D. said he prefers working face to face to get the best possible product.

Raekwon took the middle road on the topic, saying he understands the benefits that can come from technology, but cautioned there should also be an awareness of how it's used. "Everything has to have a balance," he said.
