Young Jeezy just dropped a brief, 5-track CTE EP, which prominently features his recent signees from Detroit, Doughboyz Cashout. He's also got features from YG, Yo Gotti, and Juicy J. It's a pretty tough record, and the concise running time is in its favor: hits hard, gets out of the way.
It's hard to remember the last time a street-rap group along these lines emerged; they definitely give Boyz N Da Hood vibes, all established rap personalities gaining attention on a national stage with this kind of chemistry. They definitely sound more Detroit than Atlanta, all the same, raised on a diet of Rap-A-Lot and hints of Dayton Family. (Maybe that's just this writer's association with Michigan, though).
