Earlier this week, Base Entertainment—a company that specializes in producing live performances—has opened a casting call for people to audition for the late XXXTentacion in a yet-to-be-named TV pilot.

The casting call, posted on Backstage.com, asks for men of African descent to try out for the role of X, whom they characterize as “confident yet not overtly cocky.” They also want actors who are between 5 feet, 4 inches and 5 feet, 8 inches. The pilot is scheduled to be shot in Los Angeles between January and February 2019.

The Backstage.com webpage doesn’t link to Base Entertainment, but according to the company website, it has helped assist in live show production for people like magician Criss Angel and comedian Wayne Brady. They've also facilitated live performances from the Magic Mike film franchise. However, it seems like the company doesn’t have much experience in making a TV pilot.

X was shot and killed outside a motorcycle shop in Deerfield Beach, Florida back in June. At the time of his death, he was awaiting trial on multiple charges relating to witness tampering and the alleged abuse of a pregnant woman. Following his death, the abuse case was formally dropped.

Now, four suspects stand trial for X’s death: Michael Boatwright, Robert Allen, Dedrick Williams, and Trayvon Newsome. All four have been charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a deadly weapon.
