Kodak Black has shared his stance on what happened between him and Master P.

In a new conversation with Streetz Morning Takeover, Kodak said that he never gave Master P the cold shoulder and that they did try to work together. After P reached out, Kodak went down to New Orleans to take part in some philanthropic efforts involving children. The veteran rapper wanted to mentor Kodak but allegedly for a price, with Kodak explaining that P was trying to get in his business, wanted a 10 to 20 percent commission, and that P tried to get Kodak to sign a contract.

Their relationship was ultimately severed when Kodak wanted to do a giveaway for kids, but P didn’t want to give the kids name-brand backpacks or cater the event. At that point, Kodak started taking care of those details himself rather than working with P. Kodak eventually hosted the event by himself but extended an invite to P, who never showed up. Kodak added that when he pulled up to the event, the police said they would arrest him, and that Master P also did a charitable event at Kodak’s old middle school, though Kodak never told P where he attended.

P previously explained his side of the situation in December 2018, following Kodak’s Breakfast Club comments, where the Florida rapper said, “How you gonna say, ‘okay it ain’t about no money,’ but then turn around and be on some money shit?”

P responded on Instagram, saying in a video, “A lot of these artists, when you try to help them, they say something crazy. The only thing I was trying to do with the little boy was help him.” Prior to that, in 2017, P cosigned Kodak, telling The Breakfast Club, “I feel like Kodak Black is underrated, he’s probably going to be one of the next big superstars.”

It seems a conversation between Kodak and C-Murder is what helped squash this beef, which Kodak mentioned in the song “Too Boosie” from his recent mixtape Before the Album: “He was still calling me with rumors I’m beefing with Master P (and that’s his bro),” Kodak raps. “He peeped that I’m a real one.”
