More details have surfaced about Britney Spears’ divorce from her husband, Sam Asghari.
TMZ reports that the singer is now paying the bill for her soon-to-be ex’s new apartment, to the tune of $10,000. Asghari moved out of the home he shared with Britney and has now moved to an apartment in Los Angeles. According to the outlet’s sources, $10,000 is the starting cost for units in the high-end building, and Asghari was able to land a better apartment for that price.
The former couple’s breakup wasn’t exactly amicable so it’s unexpected that Britney would pay for his new abode. Sources say it might be because Asghari’s attorney has suggested they will challenge the prenup, which predates the pair’s marriage; footing the apartment bill is something of an olive branch. According to TMZ, it’s likely Britney will end up giving Asghari a lot of money—estimated to be in the several hundreds of thousands of dollars.
It appears that Britney and Asghari aren’t currently on speaking terms. They have divvied up the dogs, with Asghari getting their Doberman, Porsha, and Britney getting the other four dogs, including their Australian Shepherd, Sawyer, and their puppy, Snow.
Asghari filed for divorce earlier this month after being married to Britney for just over a year. A day after the news broke, Asghari took to IG to comment on their split, writing, "After 6 years of love and commitment to each other, my wife and I have decided to end our journey together.” He continued, “We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always.”
According to TMZ, Britney is also looking to rebuild her relationship with her father, Jamie Spears. Though the two have been on the outs due to her conservatorship, it seems that she’s willing to make amends since Jamie’s health isn’t in the best place right now.
