Swae Lee followed through.
After the release of Travis Scott’s 2018 single “SICKO MODE,” a fan took to Twitter to compliment Swae’s ad-lib in the bridge.
“Swae Lee saying ‘someone said’ is soothing lowkey,” the user wrote.
Swae came across the message and was apparently inspired. The Rae Sremmurd member quoted the tweet and announced he would record a track based on the “someone said” line.
Swae premiered “Someone Said” during a performance in Bucharest, Romania, last summer, and has continued to tease the track on social media. No one really knew when the single would get a proper release—that is, until this week when Swae unveiled its official cover art.
“Yeah, I cut you off like a scissor, quicker/Breaststroke, baby, I'm a good swimmer,” he sings in the first verse. “Playin' with the gang, you know member/I'm picky but my girl pickier.”

Swae is now preparing to his sophomore solo project, which was initially set to arrive at the end of 2019. Swae latter announced he was pushing the project to 2020.
