OVO Sound Radio returns for its 50th episode with special guests Toddla T and Jaegen.
Today’s broadcast comes less than a month after Toddla released his third studio album Foreign Light, featuring Andrea Martin, Coco, Stefflon Don, and more. The 22-year-old DJ/producer spoke to Complex UK earlier this month and provided a track-by-track breakdown of the project, discussing everything from samples to lyrics to collaborations. It’s unclear if we’ll get any music premieres during Toddla’s mix; however, we can expect at least two debuts during Jaegen’s set.
Jaegen is also coming off a big album release. The Toronto beatmaker produced more than half of the songs on Ramriddlz’s newly released project Sweeter Dreams. He’s also worked on records for Playboi Carti, French Montana, Lil Wayne, A Boogie, Zayn Malik, and more.
In an interview with The Fader earlier this year, Jaegen discussed his dancehall influences and the evolution of his sound.
"It’s just all about positive vibes. Nowadays, it’s something I look for. It feels better to listen to that," he said. "Obviously you have your moments when you want to listen to something more down. But stuff that makes you feel good? It’s better for the soul, you know? Uplifting stuff that makes your girl wanna dance."
