Kendrick Lamar may have an album on deck after all.

During a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, the Compton rapper shot down rumors that he was working on the follow-up to 2017's DAMN: "He claims he hasn’t been working on a new album, but says that he’s constantly working," the outlet reported. The news was, of course, disappointing; however, it appears the wait will be more bearable than we thought.

Pop Craze points out that Polydor Records, which handles Interscope's distribution in Europe, may have accidently announced K. Dot's 2019 album. The imprint posted an Instagram story that named all the artists who were expected to drop projects in 2019. These acts included Lady Gaga, Lana Del Rey, Selena Gomez, Schoolboy Q, and Kendrick.

The post has since been deleted, suggesting it either contained inaccurate information or information that wasn't supposed to go public. We'll keep you posted on any developments.

Rumors of a new Kendrick album have swirled throughout 2018. Back in September, Kendrick's TDE labelmate, Isaiah Rashad claimed he had heard the rapper's forthcoming album. Days later, TDE boss Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith announced that a K. Dot album wasn't dropping anytime soon, and that fans would have to keep enjoying DAMN., until Kendrick finds inspiration.
