Cardi B is going off on The Shade Room.
The Bronx-bred rapper posted a series of Instagram videos in which she accused the celebrity news outlet of launching a Cardi B hate campaign. She specifically called out TSR's founder Angie Nwandu for continuing to post negative content about the people in her life. In summer 2018, Cardi expressed her frustration over the blog's coverage, and said she no longer wanted its team to post anything about her or her sister, Hennessy Carolina.
"We don’t need to be posted on blogs with people that just got negative shit to say just so you could hate your life, your looks or your day cause their not happy with them self thank you," she wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post.
Though TSR's negative coverage of Cardi has died down, the Invasion of Privacy rapper is still upset that the site is covering her husband, Offset; the members of City Girls; and Pierre "Pee" Thomas, the CEO of her label, Quality Control.
"She know that she not allowed to post me, so what does she do? She posts mad shit of people that she know that I'm associated with," Cardi said in a now-deleted video, before listing off the accomplishments of Offset, City Girls, and the QC boss."[...] I'm not saying that I only want people to post positive shit about us. At the end of the day, a blog is a blog, and I feel like they gotta post the good and the bad. But come on, now. That bias shit that people wanna do all the time because they on a fucking hate campaign—they on some 'Fuck QC,' 'Fuck Cardi B' campaign. That shit is getting wack."
Shortly after Cardi's initial rant, TSR began sharing screenshots of some of their more positive coverage of Cardi and her inner circle. Cardi wasn't buying it. She pointed out that most of these #TSRPositiveImages posts were shared a year ago, and there has been no flattering coverage about her or Offset in 2019.
Cardi went on to acknowledge that TSR wasn't the only outlet to post negative stories, but said this type of coverage from black-owned blogs allows those with bigger platforms to profit off black celebrities' drama. She also claimed that this kind of reporting contributed to the beef between Kodak Black and T.I.
