Another round of first-week sales projections are in.
The weekend kicked off with a handful of notable project drops from a diverse group of artists. There was Anderson .Paak's third's studio album Oxnard; Mariah Carey's long-awaited Caution; and the star-studded Creed II soundtrack helmed by superproducer Mike Will Made-It. And now that fans have had a day to stream the efforts, Hits Daily Double has come through with the early sales forecast.
At this time, it appears Carey's Caution will lead the aforementioned albums with 47,000 to 52,000 units sold; 40,000 to 45,000 of which will be in traditional sales. Caution will likely be trailed by .Paak's Oxnard project, which is currently on track to earn 33,000 to 37,000 album equivalent units in its first week. Creed II: The Album is expected to follow with only 11,000 to 14,000 units. The last project is definitely the most surprising when you consider its incredibly stacked tracklist, which includes appearances by Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, ASAP Rocky, J. Cole, 2 Chainz, and many, many more.
The act that's expected to come out on top next week is Mumford and Sons, whose fourth studio album, Delta, is expected to earn 205,000 to 215,000 units—195,000 to 205,000 in traditional sales.
Again, because these are early projections, there's a chance that these figures might change. We'll be sure to keep you posted with the actual results.
