Members of Tyga's Crew Reportedly Attacked EDM Group Cash Cash at a Sea Cruise Festival

This sounds serious.

According to a report from Billboard, members of Tyga's team are being accused of assaulting Jean Paul Makhlouf, one of the members of EDM group Cash Cash. Both acts were performing on the Inception at Sea cruise/festival, which travels between Miami and the Bahamas.

The group originally leveled accusations at Tyga's crew on Saturday on Twitter. "Last night JP was violently physically assaulted by Tyga and his team," they wrote on Twitter. They also apologized to fans for cancelling their scheduled appearance, saying they were "extremely bummed" but that they were also "completely disrespected by Tyga and his team."

Last night JP was violently physically assaulted by @tyga 's team mins before our set. Thank u to everyone who helped out. JP is recovering.

Now, Cash Cash is speaking out in greater detail to Billboard. According to the report, a representative for the group said that “Jean Paul Makhlouf suffered a concussion, injured kidney, alongside bruises to his head and body following the scuffle." They said that the altercation stemmed from Tyga delaying his scheduled set, which conflicted with the time Cash Cash was set to perform.

The rep also detailed Cash Cash's version of the alleged incident. “One member of Tyga’s touring crew hit Jean Paul in the face following a verbal altercation when Tyga’s crew refused to leave the stage after the promoter called Cash Cash to start their already delayed set... A Tyga crew member was [caught on video] kicking Jean Paul in the ribs, while another slammed him to the ground, punching and kicking his head and body while on top of him. Samuel Frisch was also shoved during the scene. Cash Cash was unable to perform their set and Jean Paul was also forced to miss their following show to recover from the incident.”

For his part, a rep for Tyga gave this statement to Billboard. "Tyga was not at all involved in any altercation and was completely unaware of the events until the next day. While details are still unclear, we were told one of the members of Cash Cash broke dj SB's laptop and security stepped in. They were interviewed by cruise security and Bahamian local authorities. No charges were filed."

Cash Cash has promised to release video of the incident, but have not done so yet. Complex has reached out to Tyga's rep and will update as more information becomes available.
