Kid Cudi is sounding off on the aging process after he was trolled on Twitter for making a joke about McDonald's Grimace Shake.
On Sunday, Cudi took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the fast food trend, which has featured TikTok users creating horror-esque clips about the effects of drinking the shake.
"Got the grimace shake the other day," the Cleveland artist wrote. "Had poopy pants for 24hrs."
It appears Cudi's humor didn't resonate with some followers, several of whom wordlessly replied with screenshots denoting his age. One user replied, “i had to check who tweeted this no way i just read ‘poopy pants,’” while another took issue with his choice overall. “No offense, but that drink is not meant to be consumed by people over 25,” they wrote.
The Man on the Moon creator—and father of a 13-year-old, who presumably enjoys silliness—weighed in hours later, ripping haters for trolling him after simply being himself.
"I see people dont get my humor and thats ok but dont be an asshole on here cuz im being myself," Cudi wrote. "I dont care what anyone thinks, ima always be myself. My silly goofy self. And my friends and family love me for it."
In another tweet, which was issued as a response to a since-deleted reply to his original post, Cudi questioned if people expect him to "lose my childlike spirit" merely due to age.
"Soooo im suppose to like, lose my childlike spirit becuz im almost 40??" he questioned. "Maybe thatll be ur sad fate my friend, but ima be a happy silly dude til im old and grey. As u get older life sucks ur soul from u bit by bit and u lose that light u had inside when u were a kid. Ive always fought to preserve this spirit becuz I knew I didnt want to lose it."
Cudi will remain 39 till Jan. 30, 2024, and—clearly—young at heart forever.
