Da Brat and wife Jesseca "Judy" Harris-Dupart have welcomed their first child together, a baby boy.
People reports the 49-year-old rapper gave birth to their son, True Legend Harris-Dupart, on Thursday night in Atlanta. True Legend arrived around 8:30 p.m., weighing 7 lbs. and 8 oz.
"I can't believe he came out of me!" Da Brat told People. "Feels like a dream. He's perfect in every way." As for how she feels after giving birth, the rapper said: "Very appreciative for such a blessing of our bundle of joy," she says. "This journey has been more amazing than we could've ever imagined."
The couple admitted that they considered changing their son's name after laying eyes on him.
“His name had been True Legend Harris-Dupart, but now that we’ve met him, we are tempted to name him 'Perfect,'" Da Brat shared.
Harris-Dupart took to Instagram to celebrate their son's birth, sharing a video which documents Da Brat delivering the couple's baby via C-section.
“I’m getting ready to have a baby,” Da Brat says in the video. “I feel numb. Like I’m sprawled out like a biology project.”
Back in February, Da Brat announced that she and Jessca were expecting their first child together. In an interview with People, the rapper reflected on giving birth at the age of 49.
“I just thought it wasn’t in the cards for me," she shared. "I’ve had a great career, a full life. I felt like, because I didn’t get pregnant earlier on, then it just wasn’t going to happen for me.”
