Nearly four years since the release of his last official full-length body of work, 2018’s EffectedCozz has returned with his new single “Fortunate.”

Produced by T-Minus, J. Cole, and Ced Breeze, the introspective track is accompanied by a fitting music video, which finds the Dreamville rapper counting his blessings after surviving a near-fatal car accident.

Cozz celebrated the new single’s release by sharing his appreciation for frequent collaborator Cedric Brown as well as Jay Kurzweil, T-Minus, and J. Cole.

“Shout out to my brudda @cedbreeze for producing this joint and shoutout @jaykurzweil @realcoleworld and @timinus for adding their talents as producers to it as well!” he wrote on Instagram. “This is a new version of Cozz but also still me so I’m excited for y’all to hear my range as an artist. Fortunate to share this one with y’all. This is only the beginning and once this starts I ain’t stopping.”

Since dropping his second studio album Effected in February 2018, Cozz continued his momentum with several scene-stealing verses on Dreamville’s 2019 compilation project Revenge of the Dreamers III. As of late, the Los Angeles-based rapper has stayed relatively quiet, most recently appearing on labelmate Lute’s debut album Gold Mouf.
