Cole Bennett enlists Cordae and the late Juice WRLD for "Doomsday," the first single off the forthcoming album from Bennett's multimedia company Lyrical Lemonade.
The track arrives alongside an accompanying music video that revives Juice, who died of an accidnetal overdose in December 2019, using AI technology.
"This industry has nothing to offer beyond fame/Time to take these n***as to school, LeBron James,” Cordae raps in his opening verse, before Juice comes through with a scene-stealing guest spot that Bennett had kept in the vault for years.
“I found the reefer Cordae stashed in the back of the lab/So I’m in class, smoking gas, slapping the class preacher/Bring the house down on you hoes, Queen Latifah," Juice raps.
Though the AI-generated Juice is unsettling, "Doomsday" is notable in that the pair recorded the song before Juice passed. Additionally, the track samples Eminem's 1999 single "Role Model," which was co-produced by Dr. Dre and Mel-Man and appeared on the Detroit rapper's 1999 album The Slim Shady LP.
Earlier this month, Bennett teased Lyrical Lemonade's upcoming project, noting that "Doomsday" was an unreleased record that hadn't "touched the internet before."
"It's not a song you've already heard," Cole responded to a tweet announcing the song's imminent release.
