Kanye West was due to make an appearance on Joel Osteen's virtual Easter service, but now he's hosting his own Sunday Service.
TMZ reports that Kanye was set to bring his Sunday Service Choir to the Osteen service for a special Easter performance, but he's now pulled out over safety concerns due to the coronavirus pandemic. They were supposed to record several songs for the event, but since his choir has over 100 members, it was decided it wouldn't be wise. The original plan was to wear face masks and maintain appropriate space between the performers as per social distancing guidelines.
Meanwhile, Ye has teamed up with the pastor who officiated his and Kim Kardashian's wedding for a virtual Easter Sunday Service. Page Six reports that he pre-recorded a performance with the choir for the VOUS Church, which is led by Pastor Rich Wilkerson Jr. The performance will be available to stream on Facebook, YouTube, and the official VOUS website. It is unclear when Kanye is set to appear on the stream, but it will kick off on Sunday at 8.m. ET.
It remains to be seen whether Ye will still make an appearance on the Osteen service stream, but if he doesn't, there's still plenty of other celebrities set to appear. Mariah Carey and Tyler Perry are expected to appear remotely to "deliver messages of love and support."
