In an extensive new interview, Cardi B explained why she decided against addressing rumors that her husband Offset had cheated on her with various women.

In a clip from her interview with Jason Lee for his new Revolt TV series The Jason Lee Show, Cardi was asked why she was “quiet” as the rumors about the Migos rapper spread. “You know why I was quiet? I was quiet because one thing I’m gonna do [is] find out the truth,” she told Lee, of Hollywood Unlocked. “You know that I was finding out that truth. So, it’s like, if I entertain something that I know is not true, on the internet, people be like, ‘Oh, it is true because you’re addressing it. But when I don’t address it, it’s true or not, as well.”

Ultimately, Cardi—who at the 1:06 minute-mark seemingly addresses rumors that Offset slept with Saweetie—didn’t want to “entertain the bullshit,” because if she did, she feared it would “keep going longer and longer.”

“At the end of the day, I know what’s going on in my house,” she continued. “When the Selena girl said she was pregnant by Offset, and she was showing her stomach. She even showed the baby and everything. And I was going so hard like, ‘It’s not true!’ Every single time that I kept saying this, it’s not true, people on purpose kept saying, ‘It’s true!’
I have learned from those experiences not to even address things that’s going on in my home.
I know the truth. ‘Cause people gonna make it worse, ‘cause it’s just entertainment.’”

Some fans speculated that Offset had cheated on Cardi with Saweetie after Quavo dropped a line that alluded to an affair on his and Takeoff’s track “Messy.” Before the arrival of the song, Quavo and Saweetie were dating. “Bitch fucked my dawg behind my back, but I ain’t stressin’ / You wanted the gang, you shoulda just said it, we would have blessed it / Now shit got messy.”

The debut episode of The Jason Lee Show has already aired on Revolt TV, and will arrive on YouTube on Wednesday, January 18.
