Future is on the latest cover of XXL magazine, which was revealed earlier today. While the full story isn't available just yet, the magazine did release some excerpts from the interview which will touch on everything from splitting parenting duties with Ciara to those Gucci flip-flops and his love for Meek Mill

“On some real shit, I love Meek," he said. "And the Drake situation, I feel like genuinely we’ve been building a great relationship over these years. We got history together. We went on a few tours together so it was like, publicly, some things was said and it was took out of context. And even with the situation coming out, we put it all behind us, went on a sold out tour and we built from that and I feel like it’s genuine, it’s authentic and we built trust between each other."

He recently teamed up with Drake on What A Time to Be Alive, an 11-track collaborative album that was released earlier this week. However, he did address the drama surrounding an interview he did prior to hitting the road with Drizzy on his 2013 Would You Like A Tour run.

Future touched on his relationship with Ciara and what it's been like co-parenting their 1-year-old son, Baby Future. He did say that when he found out Ciara brought their son around her current beau Russell Wilson, he felt it was out of spite after the recent success of DS2. "I feel like a lot of moves are just made out of just being evil, basically," he said. "Because, you know, the success of my album and you still want to make certain moves to take the spotlight off me a little bit and shed light on a negative situation."

But the best part of the excerpts center around the Gucci flip-flops that inspired his latest album's intro track, "Thought It Was A Drought." Future says his grandmother needed some flip-flops and found his Gucci ones sitting by the door. "She put my Gucci flip-flops on and ain’t bring them back. I’m like, that’s kinda weird." You can read the excerpts here and look for the issue to hit stands later this month.
