Cardi B has announced a new single, "Bongos," with Megan Thee Stallion.

The collaboration is the pair's second single together since their blockbuster hit "WAP," released in August 2020. Cardi and Megan first teased a follow up to their controversial hit on its first anniversary. “Wow I can’t believe wappity WAP turned one today,” Cardi wrote at the time. “It don’t even feel like it. What a record! @theestallion we should do it again sometime.” To which Megan responded, “Happy WAPIVERSARY 😛 Thank you for having me. I think the people deserve another collab 🥰😌.”

"Bongos" is set to be released on Friday, Sept. 8.

“Bongos” is Cardi’s first single since “Jealousy,” on which she shares billing with husband Offset. Last summer, Cardi premiered “Hot Shit” featuring Kanye West and Lil Durk. Since then, Cardi went on a feature streak by dropping verses on songs such as Kay Flock’s “Shake It,” GloRilla’s “Tomorrow 2,” FendiDa Rappa’s “Point Me 2,” and Latto’s “Put It on da Floor Again.”

“I’m not going to release any more collaborations, I’m going to put out my next solo single," Cardi said in a conversation with Vogue México y Latinoamérica last month as she revealed plans for the follow-up to her 2018 debut Invasion of Privacy. "Right now I’m working on the cover art and ideas for the next record because it’s definitely coming up."

The Bronx rapper also shared she has other ambitions in mind outside of music. "I also have plans in the world of cinema. In fact, I have plans to do everything I can: fashion, branding, I want to do it all, honey.”

Megan previously told InStyle in May that she wouldn’t be releasing new music anytime soon while she’s in her “healing girl era.” "Fans can expect new music when I’m in a better place. Right now, I’m focused on healing," she said at the time. “Bongos” will mark Megan’s first release since her 2022 Traumazine LP.
