It’s nearly impossible to think about pop princess Ariana Grande without summoning an image including her famously long and high ponytail. Though she’s switched it upon us a few times this year, the association remains, and a new sketch from The Tonight Showbrings new life to Grande’s signature 'do—literally.
In the sketch, Jimmy Fallon heads over to the singer’s dressing room and asks for a drink. Upon request, her ponytail does the honors. Her hair then answers the phone, hands Grande a tissue, and gives Questlove a terrible autograph on a vinyl copy of Sweetener, to which he logically responds, “What the fuck?”
Fallon tries to ask what’s going on, but Grande shrugs it off as if her autonomous hair is no big deal: “I mean, I’ve like always worn it in a ponytail.”
The two then hear a woman screaming in the halls of 30 Rock, as a man runs off with her purse. Grande and her ponytail take care of it, stopping the perp in his tracks. God may be a woman, but Ariana Grande’s hair (with its low masculine voice) is apparently not.
