T.I. was mired in controversy last November after he revealed he takes his daughter to the gynecologist for virginity testing.

“This is the thing,” he said on an episode of Nazanin Mandi's Ladies Like Us podcast. “Deyjah's 18, just graduated high school now and she's attending her first year of college, figuring it out for herself. And yes, not only have we had the conversation, we have yearly trips to the gynecologist to check her hymen.”

Now, his wife Tiny Harris has shared the status of his relationship with his daughter, telling Entertainment Tonight that the pair are doing “really good.” She also discussed how they worked on their bond, which fans will see more of this in the season premiere of T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle on Monday.

“You’re gonna see Tip going through some things with Deyjah,” Tiny said. “That is one of the biggest things our family had to deal with this season. It was a big deal. Their relationship is definitely much better now because Deyjah is a very bright girl. Her dad just wants to love on her, so any time he’s around her, he just can’t stop loving on her. They’ve been doing really good."

“There’s a lot of conversation,” Tiny said, touching on how they worked through the differences of opinion. “A lot of talking, a lot of back-and-forth trying to figure out where the biggest problem was. And understanding how she feels, where he was coming from and what he actually meant by whatever he said. There was no malicious ill intent in his reason for speaking on it. So, understanding that and her knowing that [helped] bridge the gap."

At the time, T.I.’s comment caused outrage, and Deyjah somewhat made her stance known by liking some tweets that criticized her father. She unfollowed T.I. and Tiny on social media before deactivating her accounts.

In January, following Kobe Bryant’s passing, T.I. took to Instagram to write heartfelt messages to his wife and kids. For his daughters, in particular, he asked Deyjah to “forgive me for any and all imperfections that cause misunderstandings between us.”

Tiny also told ET that T.I. hasn’t seen Deyjah a lot due to the quarantine.“We’ve seen all the kids, but her, only but once or twice.”
