Chief Keef is urging those who continue to speculate about the nature of Fredo Santana's death to stop.

Late Wednesday, Keef shared a brief message on Twitter stating that anyone who said his older cousin "died of lean" would be met with him "fucking beating they ass."

Niggas say my cousin died of lean again and he didn't I'm fucking beating they ass

The Los Angeles County coroner's office ruled that the cause of Santana's 2018 death was cardiovascular disease. Idiopathic epilepsy was listed as a contributing cause, with Santana having been reported at the time to have received a seizure disorder diagnosis eight months prior to his death.

Santana, whose last project Fredo Kruger 2 was released in September of 2017, died on Jan. 19, 2018 at the age of 27.

Speaking on his struggles with drug abuse on Twitter in 2017, Santana connected it to past trauma he had experienced in his life.

"Fuck being rock stars gettin' high," he said at the time. "I got PTSD." In October of that year, Santana was hospitalized and diagnosed with liver and kidney failure. Addressing fans who had offered their support and well-wishes, Santana said he "wouldn't wish this on my [worst] enemy."

This January, Keef remembered better times with his cousin in a tribute post on IG:
