Canadian rapper Bvlly was reportedly killed early Christmas Eve outside a townhouse in Oshawa. He was 24 years old.

According to the Toronto Star, the up-and-coming artist—legal name Jahquar Stewart—was fatally shot at around 3 a.m. Tuesday, only three months after he released his debut album, Made in Austria. The Durham Regional Police Service has confirmed the shooting via Facebook, stating the victim sustained multiple gun wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, but they have yet to make an arrest. Police are urging anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Durham Regional Crime Stoppers. Tipsters may be eligible for a $2,000 reward.

Oshawa resident Amanda Alldread said she heard the gunshots as she was stepping outside for a smoke.

"I opened the door and heard pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop … there were about 10 shots," she told the Star. "I ducked back in because I was scared ... It was a little bit scary. I thought I lived in a good neighborhood, but I guess things can happen anywhere."

Alldread said shortly after the shots were fired, she saw a white vehicle with tinted windows speeding away. Authorities have yet to determine if the fleeing car is a suspect or a witness.

Stay tuned as more information becomes available.
