After a breakthrough year, 21-year-old Florida singer and rapper YK Osiris has just shared his debut album, The Golden Child. Included as part of 2019's XXL Freshman list, YK Osiris channels throwback R&B through modern-day hip-hop. The Golden Child, which is released through Def Jam, sees him build upon his momentum with a solid collection of tracks.
In celebrating the arrival of The Golden Child on his Twitter, YK Osiris proclaimed, "WE ABOUT TO GO UP WITH THIS ONE." The project features appearances from Tory Lanez, Ty Dolla Sign, Kehlani, Russ, and Jah Vinci.
"I knew my voice was very powerful and you can relate to it," YK Osiris said in the lead-up to the record. "You be like, ‘Damn, I could feel him. I could feel his pain.’ What I went through. My veins be popping out. You can just see me and my expression." Osiris supported the album with the release of the "Ride" video featuring Kehlani. Complete with a dance routine, the video sees Osiris trying to win over a waitress.
