For the first time in VMAs history, the Moonperson landed in New Jersey.

The 2019 awards show went down Monday night at the Prudential Center in Newark, where Garden State natives like the Jonas Brothers, Halsey, Ice-T, and Victor Cruz gathered to recognize the biggest names in the biz as well as Jersey's place in music history.

"New Jersey has an incredible music heritage and is home to some of the world’s biggest artists ..." VMAs executive producer Bruce Gillmer said in a statement. "Now the Moonperson plants its flag to celebrate all that New Jersey has given to music fans around the globe."

The Jersey pride peaked at the end of the show, when viewers were treated to a collaborative performance by Wyclef Jean, Queen Latifah, Naughty by Nature, Redman, and Fetty Wap—all of whom were born in the Garden State.

If anyone know how to make an entrance, it's a Queen! No one does it like Queen Latifah #VMAs pic.twitter.com/WnD0XZNkEK

The artists performed classics like "O.P.P.," "Da Rockwilder," "Trap Queen," "Gone Till November," "No Woman, No Cry," "U.N.I.T.Y.," and "Hip Hop Hooray."
