Though the release of a debut album can put a lot of stress on an artist, YBN Cordae claims he isn’t feeling the pressure.

“I’ma just let the music speak for itself, ‘cause it’s true to me, it’s authentic to my story,” Cordae told Complex about his first solo album. “[…] I just want it to resonate, and it’s just real, you know what I’m sayin’? But I don’t really give a fuck about first-week numbers, because it’s a project, and then it’s a marathon. We seen n***as do, like, 300k the first week, but then no one’s talking about it in a couple of months.”

On Thursday night, the YBN crew member unleashed The Lost Boy, a 15-track project that includes contributions from Chance the Rapper (“Bad Idea”), Pusha-T (‘Nightmares Are Real”), Meek Mill (“We Gon Make It”), and J. Cole, who produced the Anderson .Paak-assisted “RNP.”

The album arrives as Cordae prepares to rap up The Lost Boy Tour. His final stop will go down on Aug. 1 at Lollapalooza.
