A “director’s cut” of Solange’s visual album When I Get Home will hit art museums and theaters in the U.S. next week.

The announcement was made via Instagram. The longer edition will be an extended version of the original short film, which the singer released in March, along with her album. The new iteration will feature “new scenes and musical arrangements.” It’s also 41 minutes long, which is just eight minutes longer than the original, per Rolling Stone.

Following its premiere on July 7 at Houston’s Museum of Fine Art and after a month-long stint in theaters and museums, the extended When I Get Home is set to hit streaming services on Aug. 5.

Solange

According to Rolling Stone, in a statement about the film, Solange said, “When I was younger I would fear what the people called the Holy Spirit and what it would do to the men and women around me. I never wanted it to catch me, and was terrified on how it might transform me if it did! Much of this film is a surrendering to that fear. After a really tough health year and the loss of the body that I once knew, the film is an invitation for that same spirit to manifest through me and the work I want to continue to create.”
