DMX hit the set of the upcoming Chronicle of a Serial Killer this week. As previously reported, X was cast as a detective in the film that also stars Tara Reid and Brendan Sexton, with director Steve Stanulis predicting the iconic artist would easily bring a new flavor to the part.

Per a TMZ report Tuesday that included the on-set photo of X and Stanulis seen below, X was tapped for the part of a detective on the hunt for a serial killer after the ousting of Michael Madsen. Shooting just began in New York. Eric Roberts and Aly Mang also star.

"When my casting director suggested DMX, it immediately resonated with me as a perfect fit," Stanulis previously toldHotNewHipHop of X's take on the Detective White character. "I have no doubt he is going bring a different dynamic to the role and I'm excited to have him part of this talented cast. I'm looking forward to working with him and everyone else this summer."

X, of course, has a fairly extensive acting career including Romeo Must Die, Exit Wounds, Fresh Off the Boat, and much more.
