A potent comedy-meets-pathos cocktail.

Although typically known for their combination of R&B songwriting with punk sensibilities, La Bouquet's latest single, "Sad People Dancing" (which is out now) leans more heavily on the former. Ideally, the song is best enjoyed with the Brad Bischoff-directed visuals to get the full effect of the comedy-meets-pathos cocktail. While vocalist Bryan Sammis (formerly of The Neighbourhood) sings sweetly in his falsetto style of trying to find solace in his sadness, the character he plays in the video unravels in a much more comedic, almost slapstick way, but always with an air of tragedy.

Speaking with Complex via email, Sammis explained: "The 'Sad People Dancing' video was a collaboration with my friend Brad Bischoff. Brad and I have worked on two videos before and I really trust his vision. We both have a similar aesthetic palette and we've learned a lot about how the other person works over the years. The result is my favorite video I've ever been a part of. It's fun, intimate, nostalgic and it encapsulates a lot of how, hopefully, the song makes you feel."
