21 Savage was reportedly arrested in Atlanta on Sunday by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The rapper, who is reportedly is a British national, was arrested during a targeted operation and is expected to be deported, according to ICE spokesperson Bryan Cox.

In response to the unexpected arrest, celebrities took to social media to condemn the federal agency and express their support for the rapper.

Alex Tumay, a mix engineer who has worked with many Atlanta rappers, fired off a series of tweets challenging those making jokes about 21's arrest.

Tumay also noted how connected 21 is to the city of Atlanta, as well as how much he's contributed.

Atlanta-based rappers, iLoveMakonnen and Father, also used Twitter to comment on 21's arrest. However, both alluded to hearing rumors about his citizenship status.

Lil Yachty and Meek Mill also shared their support for 21 by calling for his freedom.

Singer and actress Abra took to Twitter to comment on sex trafficking in major cities, which she claimed is heightened during large events such as the Super Bowl. She then criticized ICE for failing to funnel resources towards actual life-threatening epidemics and rather investing time into targeting and arresting 21 Savage. There have been reports that the sex trafficking claims are a myth, however this year, 33 people were arrested in Atlanta for sex trafficking ahead of the annual event.

However, celebs such as Tierra Whack used 21's arrest as an opportunity to for laughs.
