21 Savage had been teasing his fans for a while regarding his highly anticipated new album I Am > I Was, initially indicating a release date of Dec. 7, but by the time today rolled around, the record was nowhere to be seen. Revealing the artwork on Thursday afternoon, he eventually revealed on Twitter, "Dam I forgot to drop my album my bad y'all." He later gave fans the real release date of Dec. 21, but he's also released some new music thanks to the first trailer for Mortal Kombat 11.

Revealed at the Game Awards 2018 on Thursday night, the first trailer for Mortal Kombat 11 is soundtracked by a previously unheard 21 Savage track. The ultraviolent trailer for the game matches the tone of 21's distinctive delivery, making it so each moment of gore lands extra hard. The NetherRealm-developed game is due for release on April 23, 2019 on Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, who is publishing the game, also revealed that the 21 Savage song in the trailer was actually an original track created for the game. As such, it's unclear as to whether it will appear on 21's upcoming album, but either way it offers up a tantalizing tease of the highly anticipated record anyway.
