Ed Sheeran Responds to Outfit Backlash by Telling People Where to Buy It

People dragged the pop singer for dressing like a schlub next to Queen Bey.

Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran

Last weekend Beyoncé performed a headlining set at the Global Citizen Festival in South Africa. Gifs and photos of her performance quickly circulated the internet, as they usually do, but one photo captured the people of Twitter more than any other.

In the photo, Bey is performing a duet with Ed Sheeran of their song “Perfect.” The singer looks typically stunning, wearing a gorgeous sporty pink gown. Meanwhile, Sheeran looks about as fashionable as a youth group minister.

This frustrating duality reminded many women of the hoops they have to jump through in their personal and professional lives, while men just kind of do whatever. As a result we got headlines like, “Beyoncé and Ed Sheeran's outfit choices spark a debate about gender standards.” *Cue massive eyeroll*

Someone also imagined their roles reversed.

And this:

Whether or not you think the hate against Sheeran was warranted (it's not), the singer seems to be taking the “backlash” with a grain of salt. In response, he posted a photo of the t-shirt he was wearing to his IG story and wrote, “Swipe up to ‘get the look,” and  “#dresstoimpress.”

Clearly he’s not very bothered about the whole ordeal, and you shouldn’t be either.
