When newcomer jaycouldneverdie set out to make her debut project, her goal was simple: release a body of work before her 19th birthday and tell an honest account of her life through her music. Her 19th birthday is on November 15, and her debut releases the next day, so it looks like she already achieved that goal. But the additional bonus is that the material is also really damn good, and we're happy to share the video for one of the singles, "Progenitor," here on Complex today.

"This project is a reflection of my past year," Jay says in a statement. "Locked in a very small room, with little to no light or room to breathe, trying to create something that felt authentic to both my story and the things that inspire me and my team. These six tracks are the legacy of our work." All of the tracks are produced entirely by Jay and her partner, Sascha Andor, with Toronto creative Jake Kivanc rounding out the team working on all the visuals, branding and other managerial aspects.

Watch for jaycouldneverdie's self-titled debut EP to drop on November 16, and until then enjoy the haunting "Progenitor" above.
