A Breakdown of 21 Savage Going Back to His Gangster Roots

21 vows to make his new music a throwback to his 'Slaughter Tape' days.

21 Savage stole the show on Metro Boomin's surprise tape Not All Heroes Wear Capes.  On "Don't Come Out the House," 21 channels Atlanta legends the Ying Yang Twins as he whispers about stalking his enemies like some deranged psychopath. He was also featured on two other tracks, "10 Freaky Girls" and "No More" featuring Travis Scott and Kodak Black. And that's just a taste of what's to come in terms of his next album.

Recently, 21 has mentioned in interviews about wanting to get back to his gangster roots, telling XXL:

"I’m going back gangsta. I’m going back to what brought me in the door. All that other music be cool...I wanna get back on some gangsta sh*t ’cause I feel like everybody rap about money and cars. Like they say I rap about too much guns and sh*t, but that’s what the hell be going on. That’s what really be going on, like, in real life."

Hopefully, the features on the new Metro tape means he's gearing up to drop his solo follow-up to 2017's Issa Album. Either way, expect a whole lotta gangsta shit from 21 Savage sooner rather than later. Check the video about how the Atlanta rapper came to this conclusion.
