During the latest installment of her unpredictable Queen Radio Beats 1 program, Nicki Minaj took the time to address the infamous New York Fashion Week altercation between herself and Cardi B. “Rah [Ali, Nicki Minaj’s friend] beat Cardi’s ass really bad,” she said of the Harper’s Bazaar ICONS event incident. “You went home and told people security hit you, and we let that ride for legal reasons.” Nicki also addressed Cardi’s Fashion Nova deal, claiming she had been offered the deal first, and turned it down.

Cardi did not sit back quietly. In a 10-part Instagram rant, she fired back at Nicki, calling her a liar, and giving a point-by-point breakdown of where and how Nicki had her fucked up. In the final video, Cardi specifically addressed Nicki’s claim that Cardi has never shown her “genuine love.” Nicki initially made this statement in April, when she spoke to Zane Lowe about the drama hovering around Migos’ “Motorsport” and her reported verse change-up. “Y'all all still jumped around that just to paint Nicki as the bad person so that you could play the victim,” she said, tearfully. “That really, really hurt me. I really, fully supported her and up until this recent interview I did, I had never seen her show me genuine love in an interview. And I can imagine how many girls wish they could’ve been on a song with Nicki Minaj.”

On Monday night, Cardi concluded her IG rant by bringing that point back around. “You once said that I never showed you genuine love,” she says. “That’s crazy, because when you pull up all my videos, you see that I’m always showing you respect, because you're somebody I listened to ever since I was in high school… The difference between me and a lot of these bitches? I don't suck your dick. That's the difference.”

While Nicki and Cardi might have different definitions of the word “genuine,” one thing is clear: Cardi has gone out of her way to show that she respects the legacy Nicki is working on establishing. Here are five times Cardi B has shown love to Nicki Minaj.

Latin hip-hop and Reggaeton music site Rapetón published an interview with Cardi last August. During the conversation, Cardi is asked how she feels to be compared to Nicki Minaj. “It’s something great,” she said. “Why wouldn’t I [want to] be compared or confused to somebody that is such a legend? Like, an icon in the hip-hop world.”

In an April Beats 1 Interview with Ebro Darden, Cardi talked about how she feels about beef and sneak dissing, in general. It was a natural segway into her feelings about Nicki. “What is it that people expect for me to do or say?” she began. “I already said she’s an amazing artist, I already said I pay my respects to her. I did videos before, jamming to her songs. It’s like, what do people expect? Y’all want me to say something bad.”
