One of the many artists included in Childish Gambino's new video for "Feels Like Summer" is Azealia Banks. Right before a scene of Nicki Minaj and Travis Scott playing with blocks together, Banks is depicted in her outfit from the "LUXURY" video as she sits in a tree at the 1:26 mark.
Happy with the inclusion, Banks thanked Gambino on Instagram this weekend. "You really showed the entire hip-hop culture love in this video," she wrote. Known for stirring up drama and making headlines for incidents like her recent appearance on Wild 'N Out, Banks added, "Especially when you know how left out I feel sometime I’m so happy and honored to be included in this."
Noting her placement in a tree, Banks wrote, "Funny, people often tell me about dreams they have of me sitting up in trees. I’m delightfully intrigued by what it could mean!"
Gambino has yet to explain the video's deeper meanings, so fans have been busy identifying and interpreting each cameo. Many believe that Charlamagne Tha God is included on a bench next to Lil Yachty at the 2:25 mark.
In response, Charlamagne wrote on Instagram, "Why do y’all think this me in the new @childishgambino video? I mean the skin on this cartoon is flawless, the eyebrows do look amazing and the t shirt definitely looks like it’s from @Target but I’m more of an ice cream sandwich kind of guy so why y’all think this me????" Shouting out visual artist Justin Richburg, he added, "Great video by the way And salute to @justin_richburg on the animation! Love to see him elevating!!!"
