Logic’s foot is firmly on the pedal.
Within the last couple of months, the Maryland rapper has come through with several notable releases like the “Playinwitme” remix, and “One Day” featuring Ryan Tedder. Logic also hit the VMA stage earlier this week for an emotional performance of the latter record.
Just days after the awards show went down, Logic returns with a new single called, well, “The Return.”
The 6ix-produced record finds the rapper reflecting on everything from his come-up and haters to his resilience and dreams. There’s a lot of wordplay and references throughout the track, as well as shout-outs to hip-hop figures like Jay-Z, Kanye West, and No I.D. Bobby Tarantino also reiterated his opposition to Trump as well as his criticism of the current music landscape.
Ayo motherfuckin' Trump said that shit on my last album but you wasn't tapping in
Fuck a mumble let's make America rap again
Industry don't give a fuck about rap or what's happening
Fuck a hypebeast, bitch, now who seein' me?
Nobody reports the music, this shit, this rap TMZ
Nowadays everyone divided, so I collided with headlines to preach that
You can stream “The Return” now on Apple Music/iTunes and Spotify.
About a month ago, Logic announced he had 80 unreleased songs and seven projects in the vault. So it's safe to assume we'll be getting a lot more tunes as the year continues.
