Ed Sheeran is no stranger to collaborating, having worked with everyone from Tory Lanez and The Weeknd to Eminem and Justin Bieber. But there is one collab that he still hasn't pulled off just yet, and that's with Drake. Considering both of their statuses in the world of music, it's surprising they haven't already linked for a song or two, but as he says in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, he's hoping to change that soon.

Before mentioning his hopes to work with Drizzy, Sheeran explained that he's planning to look to the 6 God on how to release his next project. "I kind of learned from looking at how Drake does it. Drake puts out these albums that are huge but then in between he sticks out projects and however big the project is, it doesn't really matter because it's not the album, if that makes sense. It just clears the air for the next album."

Hoping to do something a little more low-key after the huge success of his last album, Sheeran seems more interested in exploring what else he's capable of outside of pop. But more than anything, he just seems to be a huge fan of Drizzy. So much so, in fact, that he says he would love to work with him. "I feel like at some point, me and Drake need to do something," he explained. "I feel like that has to happen at some point."

As for why that hasn't happened already, Sheeran said, "I mean I've been on tour for god knows how long and he's been on tour for god knows how long and he's constantly releasing stuff. I just think at some point those two worlds have to meet, and I don't know how or what it sounds like, but I feel like it's inevitable... I've only met him a couple of times. I don't even know if it's in the cards. I'd like to think he has the same mindset as me."

Sheeran and Drake are without a doubt two of the biggest artists in the world, continuing to dominate the charts release after release, so it would make sense at some point. "Like, if it doesn't happen, it's not going to be the end of my world," he adds. "But I just think it'd be interesting."
