Back in April, video surfaced of a Murda Beatz-produced instrumental that sampled Fortnite's instantly recognizable theme music. Now, after months of previews, the song has finally arrived—and it features three of rap's most exciting young artists: Yung Bans, Ski Mask The Slump God, and Lil Yachty.
Making the Fortnite theme complete, the song arrives with a Jake Osmun-created video that superimposes the heads of Bans, Yachty, and Ski Mask on the bodies of characters in the game. You can watch the video above and hear "Fortnite" on SoundCloud below.
Murda Beatz and Lil Yachty are no strangers to Fortnite. Last month, they each joined Vince Staples, Sean O'Malley, Pete Wentz, and others as celebrity participants in Fortnite's E3 ProAm tournament where they battled for $3 million in charity prize money.
During an interview with Rap Radar, Murda also revealed that video games are a part of his creative process. He says his recent No. 1 hit "Nice For What" was created while playing video games with Drake.
"We were chillin' at Drake's house, we were playing 2K, and we came up with the idea to get like a female artist, like to sample a female artist," he said. "I asked my manager, like, 'Yo, what do you think?' He's like, '"Ex-Factor."' And Drake's like, 'Oh, what part?' And we picked the part, chopped it up, I made the beat while he was playing 2K, you know what I'm sayin'? He's like, 'This shit fire.' Boom, made the beat right there. He sat there, wrote the shit in front of me, cut the shit in front of me. We had the shit done, beat and song, probably in like an hour and a half. And then I think he finished the second verse later on."
