The death of XXXTentacion shocked his fans and collaborators, with Lil Yachty expressing his grief in the days following the news. Yachty turned up to X's public memorial in Florida, and speaking with Big Boy he's now revealed that X has inspired him to do a lot more for his community.

"Now we just recently saw XXXTentacion, you know... Murdered... I know that you had a personal relationship with him, and you were saying that you know you kind of reflected and you just want to kind of change certain things around you," Big Boy mentioned to Yachty at the 17:20 point of the interview. "I just want to be a better person to the community," he replied. "I always had that dream, but he was really acting on it, you know?"

During the last few months of his life, X tried organizing a number of charity events for his immediate community, although many of them were canceled due to X's history of violence. "You can say something all day say you want to be this person all day, but you really gotta act on it, you know, and past week when I was at his funeral really just made me like, look at life a whole lot different," Yachty explained.

"I want to take this year, 2018, and furthermore the next [...] few years I'm living, to just really be a part of my community and really give back and just... I don't know, I want to be a different person," he told Big Boy. "I've always been a good person, but I wanna be, like, the best person. I really wanna be like, active, you know what I'm saying? I want to help and I wanna learn more about what's going on in the world. I just wanna be alert."

During the interview, he also explained that he wanted to help encourage people to vote, and that despite his name, he isn't actually a fan of boats. Watch the full interview above.
