Cardi B Says Offset Doesn't Own Any Guns, Was Targeted by Police

Cardi B is now echoing the defense of her husband’s attorney, claiming Offset was targeted by police for being successful, rich, and black. She also claims he doesn’t own any firearms whatsoever.

What should have been a celebratory few weeks following the birth of their daughter Kulture turned a bit gloomy for Cardi B and Offset thanks to some legal troubles. The Migos rapper was arrested on gun charges last week when he was pulled over in Jonesboro, Georgia.

Since his arrest, Offset has returned home to Cardi and Kulture after posting bail, but he’s still facing four charges: improper lane change, possession of marijuana, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime. The two felony gun charges do carry possible jail time, so he’s not totally in the clear.

Cardi B is now echoing the defense of her husband’s attorney, claiming Offset was targeted by police for being successful, rich, and black. Per the sleuths over at TMZ, not only is the “I Like It” rapper standing by her husband, but she claims he doesn’t own any firearms whatsoever, so the guns in the car were definitely not his.

Police claim that they pulled over Offset for "weaving through traffic" and "failure to maintain lane" when crossing over a solid yellow line. Once they pulled him over, officers reportedly found three weapons, less than an ounce of marijuana, and $107,000 in the vehicle. Officers also claimed they smelled weed in the car, but failed to conduct a field sobriety test.

Failing to the test definitely puts in question the real intention of the traffic stop, and both Cardi and Offset’s lawyer Drew Findling are calling total BS. “It's a common theme. We're talking about a young, African-American man driving a shiny, beautiful luxury car and clad in designer clothes and watches and jewelry,” Findling explained. “Unfortunately people in his genre become a target for law enforcement who think that lifestyle is connected to some illegal activity...and that is a sad statement.”

If Offset does have to spend time behind bars, sources told TMZ that Cardi would never leave her baby daddy’s side. Talk about a ride or die.
