In February, Young Thug told fans that he would not release any new music this year out of respect for his sibling. "I've got a deaf brother," he told Hypebeast. "I've got a brother who can't hear or talk, so I want to act deaf for a year. So I ain't going to put out no music this year." Still, the Thugger releases continue: On Monday, the rapper finally released the song "Ooou," produced by London On Da Track.
According to Genius, the track was made during a recording session for Beautiful Thugger Girls. Last year, Thug posted a brief video on Snapchat featuring a snippet of the song which was initially given the title "Jealousy."
Earlier this month, Thug dropped the three-track EP titled Hear No Evil, featuring appearances by Nicki Minaj, Lil Uzi Vert, and 21 Savage. And it looks like he's just getting started. Thugger posted a photo on Instagram of himself with Future, Metro Boomin, and Joe Moses in the studio with the caption "We don’t show the #COOK-UP, we present the #DONE." There's also that Billboard interview where Birdman said he's "looking at the summertime" to release his Rich Gang 2 collab project with Thug. Then, of course, maybe he will bless us with whatever he's working on with Childish Gambino.
This year is far from over, and neither is Thug. Listen to "Ooou" in the above video.
