Pusha-T Says a Version of Kanye's "Lift Yourself" With 'Real Other Lyrics' Exists

If poopy-di scoop didn't do it for you, there's still hope.

Pusha-T's DAYTONA, which is fucking incredible and you shouldn't trust anyone who says otherwise, is out today. Hopefully, you called in sick to work so you could just spin the seven-track opus on repeat. At any rate, for a quick 40-minute break from the listening marathon, I recommend Pusha's new interview with the Breakfast Club team.

The G.O.O.D. boss discussed the DAYTONA recording sessions, Lil Wayne and Birdman, and that whole Drake Thing. He also confirmed my sneaking suspicion that an alternate, poop-free version of Kanye West's "Lift Yourself" exists.

"I love the fact that he did that on my record," Pusha, around the 30-minute mark, said of Kanye's "Lift Yourself" reference on their "What Would Meek Do" collab. "Everybody's not privy to the conversations that we have."

Using a "so fire" beat for that post-Trumpian message, Pusha added, was all part of the plan. "I think that shows his level of confidence and arrogance in these releases," he said. "Listen, it's a real single that even has real other lyrics to it, so on and so forth, and he's like 'Yo, nah, I'mma show you. You know what? I'mma throw this out and show them what I think of all that. It's nothing.'"

West handled the production (with additional contributions by Mike Dean and Andrew Dawson) on DAYTONA. Listen to it all weekend.
