6ix9ine Says $5 Million Headphone Deal Was Fake and Kanye's Just Trolling for Sales

6ix9ine says he never spoke to people at TUNES Audio and that a deal was never in place. He also thinks Kanye learned from him and is just trolling for sales.

It was only a week ago that news of 6ix9ine’s potential involvement in a Barclays Center shooting cost him a $5 million headphone deal with TUNES Audio. According to TMZ, however, 6ix9ine claims it was fake—that he never even spoke with anyone who worked for the company—and that Kanye’s just trolling people with his latest statements to increase sales for his upcoming album.

“That shit was fake,” said 6ix9ine in regards to the deal. “The dude from the headphones just want the publicity. I literally never spoke to the dude. They don’t even got no money to pay. I mean, I don’t throw no shade on nobody, but it was never real.”

As for his ban from the Barclays Center due to 6ix9ine being a person of interest in the last month’s shooting, the rapper essentially pled the fifth. “What shooting? We perform June 8,” he said.

Unfortunately—a quick glance at the venue’s schedule will tell you otherwise—as there’s a Soulfrito Music Festival scheduled for that night (with A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie set to perform, among others). It’s likely that 6ix9ine simply doesn’t want to talk about the investigation, his potential involvement, and is trying to keep things moving—which brings us to Kanye.

When prodded to comment on Daz Dillinger’s recent call for crips to band against Ye and “fuck him up,” 6ix9ine essentially pled allegiance to Yeezy. “We got Kanye’s back,” he said. “He learned from Tekashi, like, ‘yo I gotta troll. I gotta troll to get my sales up.’”

While that is an arguably rational theory, in regards to Kanye’s Twitterstorm, media appearances, interviews and statements, not everyone is in this camp. Of course, only time—and Kanye—will tell, if his trains of thought are just continuously evolving and publicized, or if this is all an intentional Andy Kaufman-esque piece of performance art.
