Back in January 2017, Chief Keef was arrested on charges of robbery and assault after being accused of breaking into the home of his ex-music producer, Ramsay Tha Great, and assaulting him with a group of other men.
After a 16 month legal ordeal, prosecutors have reportedly dropped their charges against Keef. According to TMZ, there were "significant issues" involving the credibility of key witnesses. Ramsay Tha Great is currently serving 10 years in prison after being convicted on charges of pimping and human trafficking, and another key witness has stopped communicating with investigators altogether.
Without credible testimonies from these witnesses, the District Attorney's Office has decided there isn't enough evidence to move forward with the case.
At the time of the incident, Ramsay Tha Great explained his side of the story through a video in which he accused Keef and his crew of invading his home with an AK-47. With a bruised and bloody face, he laughed, "If you think you can come inside a person's house, home invasion, with a gun and beat him up... and you're worth six million dollars, boy you're fucked up. You're fuckin' stupid."
Despite getting off the hook in this case, Keef's legal troubles haven't slowed since the January 2017 incident. Four months later, he was arrested by Miami police, who found eight different drugs in his system: morphine, codeine, promethazine, hydrocodone, norcodeine, dihydrocodeine, hydromorphone and THC. He was charged with a DUI.
