Rich the Kid Doesn't Think Lil Uzi Vert Will Respond to Diss Song "Dead Friends"

Rich the Kid released his Lil Uzi Vert diss "Dead Friends" on Monday.

The saga between Rich the Kid and Lil Uzi Vert continues—or does it?

In a new interview with Rap Up, Rich discussed his Uzi diss track, “Dead Friends.” It was “just how I was feeling at the time,” Rich said, adding, “When I put out [the snippet], everybody just started putting a diss to it. You take it however you wanna take it—you gonna feel however you feel.”

When asked if he thinks Uzi will respond, Rich was honest. “I doubt it. Not on a music level. I’m not really looking for him to respond,” he said. “It really ain’t no disrespect. He was talking on Twitter.”

“Dead Friends” premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 Show. However, in that interview, Rich said that he was waiting on Uzi’s response: “You know you can't write better than me though.”

The feud between the two has been ongoing, though it seems like it’s more on Rich’s part than Uzi’s. In February, Rich dissed Lil Uzi Vert over the similarity of their hair, and Uzi not signing to Rich’s label; more recently, Rich criticized Uzi over his chart positions. While Rich has been consistently coming for Uzi, Uzi hasn't really responded.

A visual treatment for “Dead Friends” is due soon. Rich’s debut studio album The World Is Yours is out Friday, featuring appearances from Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, Khalid, Quavo, Offset, Chris Brown, Jay Critch, Swae Lee, Offset, and Trippie Redd.
